FAQs – Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if the chest is NOT raised correctly when breathing is carried out?

PRACTIMAN BASIC – PRACTIMAN ADVANCE – PRACTIMAN PLUS

Check that the valve:

  • Is adjusted correctly and that you hear a “click” when installing it.
  • Is dry.

Check that the lung:

  • Is placed on the marks indicated using the adhesive.
  • Is resting loosely on the neck.
  • Is not twisted or crumpled.
  • Is not broken and/or losing air.
  • Is not moist inside. Check that the lung is not moist, as moisture will prevent the air from entering correctly. If it is moist, replace it with a new one.

Check that the head:

  • Is correctly attached to the two buffers linking it to the torso.
  • Has the face skin assembled correctly to prevent air leaks.
  • Check that the face skin has been adjusted correctly with the upper tab and has been connected correctly to the nose.

How long does the lung for the PractiMan products last?

In contrast to the rest of the manikins on the market, the PractiMan lung is semi-disposable. This means that, under normal conditions, the lung is suitable for carrying out one full training session by a group consisting of several people without the need to change it, as long as it is checked to ensure it is not moist. If it is moist, then it should be changed for a new lung.

How long does the valve for the PractiMan products last?

The valve on PractiMan products will last for a long time, as long as the appropriate standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained. After use, it should be disinfected and, for it to work properly, it should be kept dry.

When should the valve be replaced?

The exclusive valve design has a no-return system with a small ball inside it. If the valve is shaken, the ball can be heard, and when the valve contains moisture, the ball no longer makes a noise. This is the way to check that the valve needs to be replaced with a dry one so that it works correctly.

There is no specific number of uses, but replacement is recommended if you observe that it is losing its effectiveness or if, after a time, it detaches easily.

What should I do if I don’t hear a click when I am doing the chest compression?

PRACTIMAN BASIC – PRACTIMAN ADVANCE – PRACTIBABY

Check: That the dial is not in the Neutral “no click” position and check that the dial is not fixed between two positions by mistake.
